I was walking through the room the other day while “miami ink” was on tv, and i saw this guy getting an original tribal tattoo from these maori tribesmen on his upper thigh. it was done with archaic tools.
I play rugby and therefore was strongly considering getting one of these maori leg band tattoos on my upper thigh, making it easier to hide when desired, but also easy to display, mostly during rugby. i have scoured the internet in search of a picture of this tattoo unsuccesfully, with the same results looking on the miami ink website.

In my opinion, if you want a tattoo and its not part of your culture, for example being maori. Then you should consider yourself too young to get one.

I’m leaving for boot camp in about 2 months and would like to get a tattoo before I leave. I dint want any crazy tats or any colored ones. Just something on the forearm or maybe a half sleeve. I want something with meaning but cant really find anything really cool.
I’m into the Maori looking tats but don’t you need to be from that lifestyle?
Here are two tats I’m looking into I’m not artsy at all so I cant really make my own

I was doing some tattoo research and i came across the Maori tribe of New Zealand, and they had ritual tattoos, with names based on area of the body. I noticed that the tattoos on the buttox region are called in their language, raperape. It may be a coincidence and i couldnt find anything on it. So i guess my question is where does the word rape come from and does it have anything to do with the tattoos of the maori?
Thanks for the great responses, i guess it was just a coincidence.

I have a tattoo on my side and it’s kind of boring. It’s just a little lizard, facing upwards, crawling up my side. I would put a picture on but last time they deleted my question and I assume it’s because you could see too much bra in the picture! But I can’t take a picture any other way! I want to somehow add to it or something.. Any ideas?! Here’s what the lizard looks like! :

it’s that style, but not in that position obviously and not that big at all! it’s about an inch big i think..
