Significance of Nautical Star Tattoos
These stars are often referred to as compass stars also, which were similar to the nautical star in that sailors used them to help guide their way in the night. These stars were first tattooed on sailors because they used the stars to find their way. Nautical stars have a long history in the world of tattoo designs dating all the way back to the early sailors, hence the name , nautical star tattoos.
There has been much controversy and heated discussion regarding the meaning nautical star tattoo and significance of nautical star tattoos and design, the history, meaning and symbolism of these tattoos has been open to many interpretations. Historically most everyone agrees that sailors were the first people to get such star tattoos.

Nautical star tattoos also appear on the elbows of punk fans that consider this tattoo to indicate the north as a symbol of home, a concept that is closely related to the North Star that guided the sailors home.

i know a few people that have them. one of them has two in the same place that youre thinking about getting them. i liek them on the hands too..i think they look good there…if you like that sorta thing. if youre gonna show ur tummy off them its a great place to get them…in fact why would you get a tattoo unless you wanted people to see it right? well good luck.

First impression Nearly a month ago, my friends, who are members of Sharek Youth Forum told me about this project called “Gaza exchange”. The project, which is sponsored by Tida in association with Sharek, puts some serious issues on the table for the Palestinian youth to debate. First time I went there, we had a debate about “Non-violent resistance”. It is a very sensitive and controversial topic for the Palestinians. In that session, we were mostly university students. It was very democratic; we agreed, and disagreed, but the thing is I am sure of is that I have learned something new from each participant who spoke. The heated discussion widened my horizons, provoked my thinking, and more importantly gave me a chance to listen and speak up. The topic left home with me despite the fact that I had exams coming up. I often think about the debate and still think about the whole issue of “non-violent” resistance. Then our final exams started and we had a break from our “Tida” activities….
