I was doing some tattoo research and i came across the Maori tribe of New Zealand, and they had ritual tattoos, with names based on area of the body. I noticed that the tattoos on the buttox region are called in their language, raperape. It may be a coincidence and i couldnt find anything on it. So i guess my question is where does the word rape come from and does it have anything to do with the tattoos of the maori?
Thanks for the great responses, i guess it was just a coincidence.
